Privacy Policy & Cookie Notice
Last updated: 20 October 2026. This page explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do.
This is a B2B website for trade buyers, importers and brand owners. We do not sell to the general public and we do not collect payment card data.

- Registered address

What data we collect
We collect only what is necessary for the purposes below, and nothing unrelated to the business relationship.
- Enquiry form
- Name, company name, e-mail, phone or messaging account, country or region, product model of interest, and the message itself — all provided by you.
- Technical logs
- IP address, browser type, time of access, referring page and requested URL, generated automatically by the server for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics data
- Aggregated visit statistics through Google Analytics 4: page views, time on page, device category and approximate region. Not used to identify individuals.
- Advertising measurement
- Through Meta Pixel: page visits, the click identifier of the ad that brought you (such as fbclid), browser identifier and device category, used to judge whether an ad produced a genuine enquiry. Collected only with your consent.
- We do not collect
- Payment card data, identity documents, biometric data, precise location, health data, or data from children under 16.
Purposes and legal bases
- Answering enquiries and quoting
- Basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Order fulfilment and after-sales
- Basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and compliance with legal obligations such as product traceability and safety records (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- Site security and abuse prevention
- Basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in protecting the site and its visitors from attacks, spam submissions and fraud.
- Visit analytics and ad measurement
- Basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Google Analytics 4 shows how pages perform; Meta Pixel shows whether an ad produced a genuine enquiry. You may refuse or withdraw at any time without affecting prior processing.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site performs no cross-site behavioural tracking and does not sell visitor data to ad platforms. Until you choose “Accept all”, no analytics or advertising script is loaded; with your consent we use Google Analytics 4 for traffic statistics and Meta Pixel to measure how our ads perform.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| rico_lang | Remembers your language choice (Chinese or English) | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
| rico_consent | Records your choice in the cookie banner (browser local storage, not a cookie) | Strictly necessary | Until you clear browser data |
| _ga | Google Analytics — anonymous identifier that distinguishes visitors | Analytics (consent) | 24 months |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 session state | Analytics (consent) | 24 months |
| _fbp | Meta Pixel — distinguishes browsers for ad performance measurement | Advertising (consent) | 90 days |
| fr | Used by Meta for ad delivery and frequency capping | Advertising (consent) | 90 days |
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookie only prevents your language preference from being remembered; browsing and enquiries still work.
Google Analytics and Meta Pixel are off by default on this site: until you choose “Accept all”, neither script is loaded and no analytics or advertising request is sent. Choosing “Necessary only” does not affect browsing, quotes or enquiries.
Sharing and international transfers
- What we never do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not use enquiry data for marketing unrelated to that enquiry.
- Service providers
- Only where necessary to run the service: hosting and e-mail (Alibaba Cloud, servers in mainland China), Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA) and Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Ireland, with processing that may be transferred to the USA). These providers act on our instructions only.
- Cross-border transfer
- Our servers are in China, so your data is transferred to and processed in China. For EU data we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism available to you.
- Legal requirements
- Only when required by valid legal process, or where necessary to protect safety or our legal rights.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries
- 24 months from the last contact. Unconverted enquiries are deleted at expiry; converted ones become customer records kept per tax and traceability requirements.
- Order and traceability records
- For the period required by applicable law — typically 10 years after order completion.
- Server logs
- 90 days for security auditing and troubleshooting, then automatically overwritten.
- Analytics and advertising measurement
- Google Analytics 4 per the property retention setting, up to 14 months; Meta Pixel's _fbp and fr cookies are kept by your browser for 90 days each.
What you can ask us to do
Exercising these rights is free of charge. We respond within 30 days of receiving a request (extendable by 60 days for complex cases, with reasons).
- Access and copy
- Tell you whether we hold your data and give you a copy.
- Rectification
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Erasure
- Delete it where we have no legal ground to keep it (for example, you withdrew consent and we have no other basis).
- Restriction
- Pause use of the data while you contest its accuracy or object to processing.
- Objection
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests; we must show compelling grounds that override yours, or stop.
- Portability
- Receive the data you provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent
- Withdraw consent for analytics and advertising cookies at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Complaint
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority, or contact us first — most issues are resolved directly.
To exercise any right, e-mail rico@rico-china.com with the subject line "Data Request". To prevent impersonation we may ask you to write from the address you used when enquiring.
